Cross Harbour Road and Rail Links
Belfast
The post-tensioned, glued segmental concrete box girder construction provided 460m of dual 4-lane road viaduct, 325 m of dual 2-lane road viaduct and 1425m of rail viaduct. The river spans were 54m, 83m and 54m, and the land spans varied from 10m to 53m. A total of 1058 concrete deck units, each weighing 60.90 tonnes, were fabricated in a specially built precasting factory.
The design and build project to link Belfast’s road and rail networks across the River Lagan was undertaken by GRAHAM Farrans Joint Venture. The project was handed over to the Client seven weeks ahead of programme.
