Graham has commenced work at the new £8m swimming complex at Balbardie Park, Bathgate.The project will take 15 months to complete. The six lane, 25-metre swimming pool will include a 10 metre teaching pool, new sports changing accommodation, pitch improvements and new office accommodation.
Fiona Hyslop, Scottish Minister for Education and Lifelong Learning joined Peter Johnston, Leader of West Lothian Council, Jim Walker, Executive Councillor for Culture and Leisure, Michael Graham, Executive Chairman of Graham Construction, Chris Dickson, Director of West Lothian Leisure and council staff at the official sod cutting ceremony on Monday 8th September.
Jim Walker was delighted to see progress being made. He said: “This unique leisure development will provide the people of Bathgate and the surrounding area with fantastic facilities.
“The new competition standard swimming pool and improved leisure facilities will create a centre of sporting excellence at Balbardie Park for the enjoyment of the whole community.’’
