Seahill Outfall
Seahill, Co-Down
This scheme comprised laying approximately 500m of storm and final effluent twin pipe (900mm and 300mm diameter respectively) laid in a trench excavated partially in rock below the sea-bed and protected with pre-cast concrete kennels. The work included the construction of diffusers and associated diffuser domes.
The pipeline was assembled at Harland and Wolff’s Ship Repair Quay in Belfast, floated and towed the six miles to site by tugs, and placed in its final position on the seabed using a team of divers and a jack up barge.
