What is Navisworks?
Autodesk Navisworks is 3D software that we use to review our 3D models.
Navisworks can be used alongside other BIM software such as Autodesk Revit. Allowing users to open models and combine them into one, the software is a valuable addition to our digital toolbox.
Combining the structural, M&E and architectural model presents the user with the opportunity to view all of the information from every model in one place.
Navigating the models in real time, the user can also view imperative information such as measurements, viewpoints, redline and clouds.
Adding to its wealth of features, Navisworks also allows the user to develop a model using tools such as TimeLiner, Clash Detection and Quantification.
Navisworks 3D – Navisworks 3D uses Clash Detection to find clashes between different models or areas of the models. This is turn saves time and cost when the project is under way on site.
Navisworks 4D – Navisworks 4D can attach a project schedule to the file and import task data. This allows 4D simulations to be completed by linking 3D models to these tasks created by the schedule.
