GRAHAM-Bam becomes a JAM Card Friendly Organisation

GRAHAM-Bam Healthcare Partnership (GBHP) is delighted to announce its partnership with JAM card.

JAM Card, created by Now Group service users, allows people with a learning difficulty such as autism or Asperger’s tell others they need ‘Just A Minute’ discreetly and easily.

Those with a communication barrier are often reluctant or unable to tell others about their condition. JAM Card allows this to happen in a simple, effective and non-verbal manner.

The JAM Card, which stands for Just A Minute, is a social innovation from NOW Group organisation that supports people with learning difficulties and autism into employment throughout Northern Ireland.

GBHP stands as the first construction firm committed to being JAM Card friendly. The healthcare initiative has allowed staff to gain valuable knowledge in disability etiquette and how to form excellent relationships when communicating with persons with disabilities.

Peter Reavey, Director of GRAHAM-Bam Healthcare Partnership, commented: “Our involvement in this scheme has been extremely rewarding so far for all of our team and we look forward to continuing our partnership with the Now Group by supporting the Jam Card initiative.”
