GRAHAM ‘Opens Doors’ to Manchester Public
Behind the scenes at site of £27m Ellesmere Street development.
GRAHAM Construction has given the people of Manchester an exclusive look at a project that will create 232 private rented flats.
GRAHAM invited members of the public to find out more about Glenbrook CHD Ltd’s £27million Ellesmere Street development, with staff giving talks on the design and planning of the three new buildings.
Split across two days on Friday March 31 and Saturday April 1, members of the public – including students and retired construction industry professionals – found out about the range of facilities and apartments at the site. Guests had a Virtual Reality experience using state-of-the-art technology to see what the site will look like upon completion.
GRAHAM worked with BuildUK to put on the Open Doors event which, along with its partners, aims to gives a behind the scenes look at live construction sites.
Caroline Gee, GRAHAM Construction Regional Community Engagement Advisor, said: “Everyone who attended really engaged with our staff and people were genuinely interested in what the team had to say.
“We had team members from Design and Planning and Project Management giving guests an introduction to the project, and even gave visitors a chance to put on a hard hat and hi-vis and see the construction zones.
“We found it a really successful way to engage with the local community.”
The 1.25 acre-site will house buildings of eight to twelve stories and feature a range of facilities including concierge, a gym, storage areas and basement carparking. The site is set for completion in summer 2018.
