Millers Quay (formerly known as ‘Legacy Project’ and ‘Wirral Waters One’) consists of the creation of 500 waterside Apartments within the emerging Northbank neighbourhood at Wirral Waters with an approximate value of £130m. Works commenced on site in March 2022. The 500 apartments consist of a mix of 1 and 2 bedroom units of which 100 are to be affordable. The buildings utilise a range of resource efficiencies to reduce the carbon footprint of the development and reduce waste. The site consists of 6 individual blocks constructed from reinforced concrete frames with a vibrant cladding scheme to the outside of each block. Wirral Waters is believed to be one of the largest and most sustainable regeneration projects in the UK and this project is seen as the catalyst for a number of other projects.
GRAHAM has been appointed to deliver the project and will be undertaking all works to the buildings and the associated external works. Works are due to complete in early 2025.
We are proud to be working in partnership with Wirral Met College to facilitate hundreds of Construction students to access a ‘real-life’ classroom. Students will be offered a structured programme of activity including site visits, work experience and masterclasses that links in with the construction programme. Students will also be assisted in the writing of CVs and participation in mock interviews. The first site visit is to take place at the end of September where the entire intake of students for the 22/23 academic year will be taken on tours of the site.
