Works are now well underway at Byron Court Primary School in Wembley.
GRAHAM Construction was appointed to the expansion project in 2017 to demolish eight existing buildings on site and construct a new part single, part two storey building.
Externally an all-weather MUGA (multi-use games area) will be created along with associated landscaping, parking and upgrading of access.
The proposal will modernise the school’s facilities, creating space for year group cluster learning zones with designated resources and group rooms at the heart of the clusters.
Cllr Ruth Moher, former Brent Council Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: "We need to create more school places for local pupils, and this expansion achieves that, while also ensuring they can attend an outstanding school and get an excellent education.”
To date on site, the GRAHAM team have installed foundations, precast floor planks and the structural steel frame. The external façade of the build will soon commence which includes a combination of brickwork and steel cladding. Works are expected to complete toward the end of this year.
