BT Dundee project generates £600 in social value, supporting the mental health of Dundee residents

Our team generously volunteered their time to support the mental health charity, Wellbeing Works. Over the course of a couple of days, our team worked alongside delegates who have benefited from the charities support. Working on the charity’s allotments on Dundee Law, they prepared the ground, dug, and sifted soil, planted bulbs for the upcoming spring season, and managed waste disposal. We also contributed a rainwater system, along with shovels and rakes.

Wellbeing Works is a local charity dedicated to improving the wellbeing of individuals facing mental health issues. By offering one-to-one support and group activities, they help people build confidence, develop new skills, and foster meaningful connections. Their work not only supports individuals in their mental health journey, but also has a positive impact on the wider community.

Dave Cowan, Wellbeing Works Manager, commented:

“The volunteer session supported by GRAHAM is a perfect illustration of the five ways to wellbeing at work; 1. Connect, 2. Be active, 3. Learn, 4. Take notice, and 5. Give. The session has allowed both the delegates and GRAHAM volunteers to connect, learn from one another about gardening, the project, and the positive impact GRAHAM has had on our local community. We are deeply grateful for the time, effort, and relationships this opportunity has created.”

William Lawler, GRAHAM Interior Fit-Out Project Manager of BT Dundee, said:

“We’re proud to support Wellbeing Works in their mission to strengthen mental health in the Dundee community. By contributing our team’s time and efforts, we’re helping to create an environment where skills, confidence and connections can be built. Our partnership with Wellbeing Works reflects our commitment to making a positive impact on local mental health and wellbeing.”
