Royal London has selected the GRAHAM team to deliver the £35million design and build of its retirement village, Wycliffe Park, in Horsley Green near High Wycombe.

We will lead on the delivery of the specialist accommodation for older people. The development will comprise 156 highly accessible and well-designed one and two-bedroom independent living apartments, set across four cluster blocks around the 25-acre site.

We will also carry out the construction of the communal facilities, including a central clubhouse comprising a reception area, restaurant, multi-purpose room, convenience shop, laundry room, scooter storage, and management offices that will become the heart of the new community. In addition to this, we will create a spa facility with a swimming pool and hairdressing salon. The landscaped environment will include a kitchen garden, bowling green, and safe walk trails, all within a secure setting.

Philip Sutton, Head of Developments at Royal London said:

"I am delighted to appoint GRAHAM for this important project that is our first foray into the retirement village sector. GRAHAM's support during the procurement process has been key to concluding the appointment and we look forward to working with them over the next two years to deliver this high-quality development."

Rob Joyce, Director of GRAHAM's London office, said:

"GRAHAM has a proven experience in the delivery of both residential accommodation and state-of-the-art specialist facilities. We will be bringing these capabilities together under one design and construction programme that allows the future Wycliffe Park operator to provide its residents with the services that support their continued independence in a high-quality living and leisure environment."

With works having commenced on-site, the scheme will be constructed over a two-year programme, due for completion in Summer 2022. Once complete, Wycliffe Park will be operated by retirement village specialist, Audley.
