A team of GRAHAM employees and partnering subcontractors recently joined forces with Sandwell Council employees, contractors and suppliers to give a Tipton-based transition centre for vulnerable young people a major makeover.

Coinciding with National Customer Service Week (7th – 11th October 2019), the group collectively provided professional expertise, materials and supplies to revamp The Bridge on St Mark’s Road.

The facility is owned and operated by the Murray Hall Community Trust, an anchor organisation which provides support to young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions across the West Midlands.

The GRAHAM volunteers fitted new external lighting and improved the facilities in the assisted shower room as part of the initiative.

GRAHAM has a strong presence in the Midlands, and, from its Solihull base, delivers facilities management services to a range of councils across the region including Sandwell.

Alan Millar, GRAHAM FM Regional Contracts Manager, expressed pride at his team’s contribution. He said:

“It was a privilege for us to lend our support and to get involved in this transformative project. With such a strong presence in the local area, we understand the importance of The Bridge and the positive work that it does for the local Tipton community. The facility has been significantly upgraded and I’m confident that the staff and young people will enjoy the massive improvement.”

“The GRAHAM staff were very professional, polite and helpful, and we are very grateful. All of the works have been carried out to a very high standard and everyone was courteous and polite, and mindful that they were working in an environment where service users and visitors were in attendance.

“The improvements are very much appreciated and will enhance the comfort and enjoyment of our service users. Visitors have already commented on how clean and fresh our communal area now looks.”
