The Mayor of Barnet has praised the ‘fantastic benefits’ a new community centre will bring to the area during its recent topping out ceremony.

The Tarling Road Community Centre will include a learning area, large meeting hall, café with seating, accessible lift, and 980 metres of functional space for people to use.

It is due to open its doors in East Finchley later this year.

Speaking at the topping out ceremony, the Worshipful Mayor of Barnet, Councillor Reuben Thompstone, said:

“It's great to now be at a stage where we can fully see the outside of this building and appreciate its scale. I have experienced the fantastic benefits this centre will bring to the community, and I can't wait to see it open to the public."

Partner

We were appointed by the London Borough of Barnet as partner to deliver its portfolio of works within the borough in 2016.

Rob Joyce, Development Director, said:

“Since our appointment, we have worked closely with the borough and wider project team to provide local residents with new and improved facilities throughout the area. Tarling Road Community Centre is the first of the projects to complete, setting a high-standard for future development in the area. We are proud to have delivered such a significant facility for the community.”
