Our University of the West of England (UWE) Facilities Management Team put their best foot forward for charity on Saturday 9th June and raised approximately £800 in the process.

Our Contracts Manager, Nick Brown, organised the 10km charity walk in support of Brunelcare’s – The Willows Day Centre in Bristol.

The Centre specialises in supporting people living with dementia and is led by carers who provide a safe and socially stimulating environment.

Brunelcare is a provider of high quality housing, care and support for older people in the South West.

The walking route took in some of Bristol’s famous landmarks and started at the Downs before traversing across the city, passing Cabot Tower, the Cumberland Basin, SS Great Britain, Castle Park and finished at the harbour side.

An enjoyable day was had by all, with participants also representing the client UWE, where we provide Hard FM services that include planned/preventative and reactive maintenance and minor works across three main campuses, comprising of 167 buildings.

Commenting on the walk, Nick Brown, said:

“The walk was a tremendous success and I would like to thank everyone who took part and who donated money for this worthwhile charity. I am also grateful to the University of the West of England’s staff who have been very supportive.

“The money raised will be used to help The Willows Day Centre to continue to provide fun activities for the elderly people they care for in a warm and safe setting. This is part of GRAHAM’s continued efforts to support global and local charities. It was also a great opportunity for our UWE team to get together and we look forward to organising further charity and community initiatives in the near future.”
