About the Framework
University of Birmingham Main Contractor Framework for Projects in excess of £10m (uncapped)
This opportunity is to create a University of Birmingham Main Contractor Construction Framework Agreement with the ability to support other Higher Education Sector Organisations and to develop local initiatives. It is anticipated that the Framework Agreement will be for 10 years and will be based on the University of Birmingham construction project pipeline which is estimated to be in the region of £1Bn. The framework is expected to generate partnerships working together and to develop long term relationships. The Framework Agreement will be made available for use by Higher Education Sector Organisations.
Awarded project works relate to the university’s property portfolio of 213 buildings, ranging across:
- Utilities and Civil Engineering – sub-stations, car parks, subway work and services infrastructure
- Administrative and Commercial – offices, banking provision and shops
- Health and Welfare – medical teaching and research, occupational therapy facility and children’s day nurseries
- Recreational – A sports centre and pavilions, licensed premises and a concert hall
- Educational, Scientific and Information – lecture theatres, computer buildings, laboratories, engineering workshops and libraries
- Residential and Conference – student residences, tied properties & conference centres
