GRAHAM Appointed to Deliver New Offices for Forensic Science Northern Ireland

GRAHAM has been appointed to deliver new state-of-the-art offices for Forensic Science Northern Ireland (FSNI) in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim.

The project – known as Project Atlas – will provide modern, fit-for-purpose office and laboratory accommodation for FSNI staff, supporting the agency’s vital role within the criminal justice system.

The construction contract is expected to commence at the end of the financial year following an initial six-month detailed design period.

The new facility will represent a major investment in the future of forensic science services in Northern Ireland and reinforces GRAHAM’s track record of delivering high-quality public sector projects across the region.

Jonathan Hall, GRAHAM’s Group Chief Operating Officer, said: “Our experienced team look forward to collaborating with Forensic Science Northern Ireland to deliver a state-of-the-art development that will provide modern forensic facilities with thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces to connect with nature and enhance staff wellbeing.”

During a recent site visit, Justice Minister Naomi Long met with FSNI staff to learn more about their innovations and hear about the future development.

She said: “The crucial work FSNI does in the criminal justice system is much appreciated. Project Atlas will ensure staff have the opportunity to work in modern, fit-for-purpose facilities that will enable the continued delivery of a valued service.”

FSNI Acting Chief Executive, Alison McElveen, added: “I am delighted that Minister Long took the time to meet with laboratory staff to hear about some recent innovations.”
