£59M Mixed-use Residential Development
The £59 million Burnet Point mixed-use residential development in Edinburgh, delivered by GRAHAM, has reached practical completion and is now welcoming residents to the prime city centre location.
Located on Abbey Lane, Burnet Point is Unite Students’ first combined development of purpose-built student accommodation, build-to-rent flats and affordable housing, and it is set to become one of their lowest carbon new-build properties.
The development offers 298 student bedrooms, 66 build-to-rent flats, and 17 affordable homes managed by Hillcrest Homes. Residents can also enjoy communal indoor and outdoor spaces, as well as landscaped roof terraces, all designed with sustainability at the heart using low-carbon concrete and timber composite materials.
James House, Construction Director at GRAHAM Building North, said: “We are delighted to reach completion of Burnet Point, a fantastic project that showcases GRAHAM’s expertise in sustainable construction and mixed-use developments. This was made possible by the drive and collaboration of the full supply chain and Unite Students, and we look forward to seeing this much-needed residential development come to life.”
Joe Lister, CEO at Unite Students, said: “We’re thrilled to have opened the doors to Burnet Point in time for the start of the new academic year.
“It’s our first mixed-use scheme combing student accommodation, build-to-rent and affordable housing, so it’s a property that will serve both the student and private rental markets.
“The addition of 298 high quality, affordable student bedrooms in Edinburgh will help to improve supply, while also freeing up much-needed privately rented homes for families and young professionals.”
