GRAHAM has signed contracts to build the new Airedale Hospital, part of the government’s New Hospital Programme.
GRAHAM will be the construction partner for the state-of-the-art hospital in West Yorkshire, working with Airedale NHS Foundation Trust to help deliver it as quickly as possible.
The contract was signed on 30 July as part of the Hospital 2.0 Alliance, which brings together NHS England, NHS Trusts and industry partners to build hospitals through Hospital 2.0, a standardised blueprint for design and delivery, developed in consultation with clinicians, healthcare staff and patients across the country. It incorporates the latest best practice and technology to improve care for patients and aims to decrease building time and costs.
The Hospital 2.0 model will be tailored for the people of Airedale and sized to meet future health needs. It includes 100% single en-suite patient rooms, which have space for carers to stay, and social spaces on each ward to prevent isolation.

GRAHAM has extensive experience of working on large scale construction programmes including numerous hospitals across the UK, and we are delighted that they will be working with us on our programme.
We have a particularly challenging site and have the added complexity of keeping our current hospital running as we build our new hospital. However, we are sure that with their skills and expertise we can build a new hospital that our communities will be proud of, whilst minimising disruption as construction takes place.
