£44m Down High School Reaches Completion
GRAHAM Building has delivered a best-in-class education campus at Downpatrick on behalf of NI Department of Education on time for the pupils arriving after summer break.
The £44million project will create a state-of-the-art school including a sports hall, PE facilities and multiple sports pitches, catering for up to 950 pupils in the South Down.
An abundance of sustainability features have been included on the site, with green roofs, extensive wild flower meadows, complete with bee hotel, raised garden planters and greenhouses as well as extensive cycling facilities. Pupils will also have access to a stylish sheltered courtyard for break times.
There’s no doubt that Down High School is a very special project for our site team, with many having attended the school as pupils.
The campus will greatly enhance learning facilities for future generations growing up in Downpatrick and it’s all down to the hard work and collaboration between GRAHAM, the school and their stakeholders.
