GRAHAM Delivers Passivhaus Masterclass at UK + IRL Passivhaus Conference

Last week the GRAHAM Building team joined our client Queen’s University Belfast to present a case study on the Weavers’ Hall PBMSA development and the practicalities of incorporating Passivhaus into construction methods, at the UK + IRL Passivhaus Conference 2025 in Belfast.

There was also a guided tour of the site for delegates to see firsthand the attention to detail being carried out by the team to ensure all Passivhaus objectives are met and sharing lessons learned throughout the process.

This is an exciting project and with 459 bedrooms across 16-storeys, excellent air quality and the highest level of energy performance, it’s more than accommodation – it’s a statement of what student housing should be.

Collaboration has been key between GRAHAM, QUB, its supporting consultants and supply chain who have fully embraced the unique challenges of delivering a Passivhaus development of this scale.

Feedback has been tremendous.

Sarah Lewis, Research and Policy Director at Passivhaus Trust said:

“On behalf of the whole PHT and PHAI teams, I wanted to express our sincere appreciation. The session was extremely well reviewed and set the perfect tone for the conference the following day. It was wonderful to hear so much positive feedback about the project across both days. GRAHAM received particular praise for their approach and for the excellent presentations from the team — a real credit to everyone involved.”
