Following recent success at the CECA Scotland Awards, the Port of Leith’s Outer Berth redevelopment has once again taken top spot at the British Construction & Infrastructure Awards for best Upgrade & Renewal project.
Amidst strong competition, the judges praised the nomination and said it:
“confidently addressed each element of the awards criteria, with excellent demonstration of digital modelling and optimisation of design. It focused on carbon reduction throughout and minimising impacts by moving materials by water. Excellent collaboration between contractor and client to effectively manage risk and ultimately delivered a highly successful upgrade and renewal of an existing port asset
Working in collaboration with Forth Ports Limited and HBPW Consulting Engineers, Leith Outer Berth is Scotland’s largest renewable energy hub and is a pivotal asset in Scotland’s pursuit of net-zero emissions. Featuring a heavy-lift berth with a 100 t/m2 capacity, it is designed to accommodate the world’s largest offshore renewables support vessels.
Congratulations to all the finalists and winners and we thank BCI for this recognition.
