Project summary
This Design & Build project involved a comprehensive fit-out, remodelling, and refurbishment across multiple floors of the existing BT building. Delivered within a live operational environment, the works spanned the ground floor (including a new atrium and entrance), as well as the first, third, fourth, and fifth floors. The project was completed on time and within budget, with a strong focus on collaboration and transparency throughout. Key features included the transformation of the main reception, the addition of café spaces, and the installation of a striking new ‘Agora’ structure in the central atrium.
Project detail
The scope of works included 52 phased handovers over 12 months, allowing for uninterrupted BT IT and AV upgrades. The project involved extensive strip-out and downtakings, structural upgrades, glazing infills, and the creation of bespoke reception and breakout areas with high-end finishes and joinery. A full M&E upgrade was carried out, including modifications to rooftop plant and the installation of new catering facilities. Notably, the team adapted to unforeseen challenges such as the replacement of numerous fan coil units and drainage variations, working closely with Thomas & Adamson in an open-book, collaborative manner to ensure cost-effective and future-proof solutions. The result is a modern, flexible workspace designed to support BT’s evolving operational needs.
What they had to say
