Spanning 85,000 sq. ft across five storeys, the project reflects BT’s commitment to sustainability, employee wellbeing, and modern workplace design. The bespoke fit-out includes collaborative workspaces, a games area, and an in-house coffee shop, all designed to foster a dynamic and healthy working environment for over 1,000 staff.
Project detail
BT’s relocation from its long-standing Ward Road premises to the heart of Dundee’s waterfront regeneration zone marked a significant milestone in the company’s UK-wide workplace transformation. Designed by HAUS Collective, the new headquarters blends high-quality finishes with innovative sustainability features, including a self-vegetating brown roof and electric vehicle charging points.
Delivered in partnership with Sheppard Robson, Thomas & Adamson, and Troup Bywaters + Anders, the fit-out was logistically complex and executed to a premium standard. The project was completed in line with BT’s critical occupation dates, despite base build delays, ensuring uninterrupted operations.
The scheme also delivered measurable social value: eight apprenticeships were created, 100% of waste was diverted from landfill, and the project achieved a “Very Good” rating from the Considerate Constructors Scheme. This marks the seventh successful project delivered for BT, reinforcing our trusted partnership and shared vision for future-ready workplaces.
What they had to say
“We’re really proud of our incredible 2 Greenmarket building which is home to around 1,000 colleagues all focused on serving our customers. The building has been designed to meet high environmental standards – not only have we removed gas completely, reducing our CO2 impact by approximately 1 million kilowatts of consumption (185 tonnes of carbon) per year – but 50% of the roof is covered in green space.”
