Project summary

Regarded as one of Europe’s largest single location retail areas (240,000 m2), the Lakeside Shopping Centre received a multi-million pound transformation designed to significantly enhance the customer experience of over 25m customers who pass through its doors annually. Central to the remodelling project, was our £5.5m refurbishment of the existing food court, which revitalised over 40,000 square feet of retail space. Requiring technical expertise from our experienced design and project team, the upgrade facilitated the occupation of new food retailers and restaurants while delivering mixed-use zones for customers to relax and enjoy.

Project detail

Now home to food outlets like Burger King, and coffee houses such as Starbucks, the expansive food court upgrade included the creative use of technology, which enhances the mood and ambience of the multi-use facility. The complex £5.5m development significantly maximised space and involved the replacement of the existing floor, wall and ceiling finishes plus the reconfiguration of a number of retail and restaurant units.Additional strands of our work focused on the creation of a new baby change facility and the revitalisation of the existing washroom areas. Creativity and attention to detail are evident in every aspect of this modernisation project.

What they had to say

This was both a technically and logistically challenging project but one, which our team delivered to the highest standards. The Lakeside Shopping Centre is a must visit customer destination and our work has certainly enhanced their experience.
