Royal Automobile Club's Woodcote Park Estate

The refurbishment of the Royal Automobile Club’s Woodcote Park Estate has transformed key accommodation, hospitality and arrival facilities across one of the UK’s most prestigious private members’ clubs. Set within 350 acres of Surrey parkland, the project combined extensive modernisation works with the careful restoration of the estate’s historic architecture.

Delivered by GRAHAM Interior Fit-Out, the £7.4m refurbishment has enhanced the overall member and guest experience through upgraded accommodation, improved hospitality facilities and significant external restoration works. The investment ensures Woodcote Park continues to provide a first-class environment while preserving the character and heritage that make the estate unique.

Completed between January and June 2026, the project involved the refurbishment of accommodation, hospitality and arrival facilities, alongside extensive restoration and external improvement works across the estate.

The works included the refurbishment of 21 guest bedrooms and adjoining corridors, complete bathroom upgrades, and the fit out of a new kitchen. Key member and guest areas were also enhanced through the refurbishment of the main bar, improvements to the entrance and reception spaces, and the addition of a new glazed arrival feature. Externally, the project involved extensive restoration and improvement works, including repairs and cleaning, the restoration of masonry, roofing and windows, landscaping enhancements, car park reconfiguration, and the installation of EV charging points.

Located within the Royal Automobile Club’s 350-acre Woodcote Park Estate, the project required a sensitive approach to refurbishment and restoration, with works undertaken to the Grade II Listed main house and surrounding estate assets.

A key challenge was delivering the programme within a live operational environment while maintaining member access and minimising disruption to day-to-day activities. This was achieved through detailed planning and phased delivery, with construction activities carefully coordinated around the Club’s operations.

The existing clay pot wall construction presented additional challenges for the installation of new building services. To overcome this, all service routes were carefully coordinated with the shortest and least intrusive routes identified and architectural features utilised where possible to minimise opening-up works.

The refurbishment of the main car park also created logistical challenges, as it served as the primary location for site establishment, storage and workforce parking. Through careful phase planning and daily coordination between project teams, site requirements were continually adapted to suit the changing needs of the programme.

The completed refurbishment has transformed the member experience through upgraded accommodation, a fully refurbished bar, enhanced arrival facilities, a redesigned main car park and the comprehensive restoration of the estate’s exterior, delivering modern facilities within one of the country’s most prestigious private club settings.
