Project Detail
Commencing in December 2022, the two-year construction programme enhanced infrastructure and services for passengers. Building on the successful operational opening of the station in April 2024, Phase 2 works included the demolition of the old station building, significant upgrades to the station platforms and new public realm area. Station opening was achieved on-time despite tight deadlines, a complex construction site and inflationary pressures.
We employed value engineering to optimise costs without sacrificing on quality. Adding value through collaboration with key stakeholders such as Translink, and designers Gregory Architects, Doran Consulting and Semple McKillop to ensure the project met the clients’ expectations in delivering a vital piece of rail infrastructure that would promote the use of public transport across Belfast.
