Project Overview

About the Belfast Transport Hub Project

Renamed Belfast Grand Central Station in 2022, the Belfast Transport Hub is a multi-million-pound transport led regeneration project and is a NI Executive Flagship project. It will see the transformation of an 8-hectre city-centre site, delivering a modern high-quality integrated transport hub to enhance local and international connectivity with bus, coach and rail links across Northern Ireland and beyond.

It will be a key driver of social, economic and environmental wellbeing for Belfast and Northern Ireland, and will be at the heart of an exciting new city neighbourhood called 'Weavers Cross', with imaginative mixed-use development proposals. Weavers Cross Belfast aims to improve the quality of life and opportunities for people living in the area while also improving the infrastructure for commuters, visitors, new residents, and businesses. More on Weavers Cross can be found here.

Through 2 contracted phases of work, GRAHAM has completed essential early engineering works to prepare the site for construction (Belfast Transport Hub Enabling Works Project) and is currently delivering a Busway Bridge to facilitate bus access to the new station (Belfast Transport Hub Busway Bridge & Ramps Project). More information on both these projects can be found below.

This project phase was successfully completed in 2022. Click on the links above to see videos on specific aspects of the works, and/or scroll through our project achievements and how we have worked with our local community to ‘Deliver Lasting Impact’ throughout the project!

Current Project: Belfast Transport Hub Busway Bridge & Ramps Project (16M)

Awarded to GRAHAM by Translink in 2022, this project will see alterations to the existing Translink Busway route which runs into the Europa Bus Centre and the installation of a new weathered steel bridge. This will enable the Belfast Transport Hub’s main works contractor to construct the new integrated bus and rail infrastructure.
